Coaching Requirements & Registration

Coaching requirements vary by age group and coaching role. Please review the requirements below and use the appropriate registration link for your coaching or specialty position.

Reimbursements for coaching requirements are available by request using the link below. Please submit all your receipts/expenses in one submission for coaching reimbursements.

Specialty Coaches

Learn to Skate & Learn to Play Coaches: Require USAH Registration, SafeSport, Background screening and 6U/8U CEP course.

Skills Coaches & Guest Coaches: Require USAH Registration, SafeSport and Background screening

Student Coaches: Require USAH registration, View USAH Student Coaching presentation & submit student coach application. Must be age 13-17. SafeSport may be required.

Coaches: 10U through 18/19U and HS Coaches

USAH Registration : annual
Background Screening : Valid for 2 seasons
SafeSport : annual; expires 12 months from completion
CEP : completed by 12/31; courses offered mid-July through 12/15
Age Specific Module : one-time; age appropriate module
Concussion training : annual per USAH & Colorado Law; upload document during registration process
Coaching Code of Ethics : annual per USAH; signed code needs to be collected. This is something we can add to the registration process and electronically signed or check marked so that I don't need to download another document.
Code of Conduct : annual per CAHA & Colorado Law. Collected by team managers

Coaches: 6U/8U

USAH Registration : Annual
Background Screening : Same as 10U+ coaches
SafeSport : Same as 10U+ coaches
CEP : First-time coaches must complete 6U/8U CEP by 12/31. May continue with expired CEP. 6U/8U CEP valid 5 years or until moving up an age level.
Age Specific Module : Same as 10U+ coaches
Concussion Training : Same as 10U+ coaches
Coaching Code of Ethics : Same as 10U+ coaches
Code of Conduct : Same as 10U+ coaches
